Background
iHerb, LLC is one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms dedicated to vitamins, supplements, and other health and wellness products. Supported by a global workforce of approximately 3,000 employees, the company serves more than 10 million active customers across 180 countries and 19 languages through a sophisticated logistics network anchored by climate-controlled fulfillment centers in the United States and Asia.
John and Snyder began partnering with the company in early 2023, initially retained by the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer, with whom we had previously worked at another organization. Over the following two and a half years, the company engaged John and Snyder to support a series of strategic legal and compliance leadership searches as the organization expanded its global operations.
Our Strategy
As the company grew in scale and regulatory complexity, its leadership recognized the need to strengthen both international legal coverage and enterprise-wide compliance capabilities.
John and Snyder partnered closely with leadership to recruit lawyers capable of supporting the company’s rapidly expanding international business. These searches required developing a detailed understanding of regional legal markets, particularly in Europe and Asia, in order to identify candidates capable of operating within complex regulatory environments.
In parallel, following a comprehensive review of the company’s regulatory risk profile—including trade, customs, and product safety compliance across numerous jurisdictions—the company’s CEO and Board of Directors created the new role of Senior Vice President of Compliance, a position reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the executive leadership team.

These hires established the leadership structure for a rapidly growing compliance organization. Today, the compliance function consists of the SVP of Compliance, five directors and senior managers, and six additional compliance professionals supporting trade and product compliance across the United States and Europe.

John and Snyder remains a trusted advisor to the company’s leadership and has recently been retained to lead an additional international legal search supporting the company’s operations in the Middle East.
