Week 2 of “Diversity and Inclusion: A Social and Professional Responsibility” at Loyola University Chicago School of Law!
IILP CEO Sandra Yamate and Advisory Board Member Josie Gough were pleased to welcome Lawrence Baca from the National Native American Bar Association, Angela Winfield from the Law School Admissions Council, and Steve John – JD, ACC of Steven John & Associates, LLC to speak to the class about diversity within diversity.
The students got to hear about the inclusion (or lack thereof) of Native Americans in the profession, disability diversity, what inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community means, and how each of these dimensions of diversity can (and should) be better included within the legal profession’s broader DEI efforts.
Thank you to Lawrence, Angela, and Steve for a compelling session that will no doubt have our students thinking about what each of you said for some time to come!
