Job Summary
The Senior Counsel – Intellectual Property & AI Regulatory will play a mission-critical role in managing iHerb’s global IP portfolio and advising on AI-related legal and compliance frameworks. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this position is ideal for a legal leader with deep expertise in both intellectual property and emerging AI regulation who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
Job Expectations
- Lead and manage iHerb’s global IP portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and domain assets.
- Develop and implement worldwide IP enforcement and anti-counterfeiting strategies.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, IT, and Compliance to embed IP and AI compliance practices.
- Monitor global AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, U.S. state AI laws) and implement related governance policies.
- Draft and negotiate IP, licensing, AI vendor, and technology agreements.
- Create internal policies for ethical and compliant AI use across the business.
- Provide training to business units on IP and AI topics to mitigate risk and promote compliance.
- Support M&A activities with diligence on IP and AI regulatory risks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
- 8–10+ years of relevant legal experience with a strong background in IP and AI regulation.
- Law firm and/or in-house experience with significant IP enforcement and AI regulatory responsibilities.
- Expertise in managing global IP assets and advising on AI governance/compliance frameworks. Proficiency in IP and contract management systems, legal research tools, and AI vendor technology reviews.
- Excellent judgment, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across global, interdisciplinary teams.
Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

The Team Member is frequently required to sit, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 25 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required.
